Oahu

Last week Jason and I had the opportunity to visit Oahu. I can honestly say that we had a wonderful time and to be honest there were points in the trip when I thought to myself "when have I last seen a major highway or a major shopping mall...oh, about a year ago...that's right".  I could almost say that I went through a little culture shock...I decided to view it as a warm up for returning to the mainland in July!

Anyways, here are some of the photos that we took!

This is the view from our hotel. What can I say besides...absolutely wonderful

This is another view from our hotel
One of the places on our "Must see before we leave Hawaii" list was Pearl Harbor. I and I am so thankful that we had the opportunity, I learned so much and it helped me to picture the significance of it in history a little more.
First up on our tour was the Pacific Aviation Museum which housed a bunch of planes and gave aviation history.

Hanger 79 actually is one of the original buildings that was standing on the day Pearl Harbor was attacked.

This is what Hanger 79 looks like on the inside today.

There I am.

Okay, we found a plane from Chicago...we were pretty excited!

I got to sit in one of the helicopters!

PMRF is actually on the island that we live on now!
We also went and saw the USS ARIZONA, which was a very somber moment. I never realized how many men died instantly on the USS ARIZONA.

Can you see the black tears coming up from the USS ARIZONA?

There's my Husband.

I just want to say "Thank You" to the wonderful stranger who took this photo...I didn't think I would get one of us together.
